Flyers 5, Bruins 2: Matt Read and defenseman Oliver Lauridsen scored seven seconds apart in the second period as host Philadelphia rolled to its fourth win in five games.

Scott Hartnell, Jakub Voracek and Simon Gagne also scored and Steve Mason turned aside 39 shots for his third straight win as the Flyers stalled Boston's attempt for a division title.

Defenseman Wade Redden and David Krejci scored in a sloppy performance by Boston, which remained tied atop the Northeast Division with Montreal after the Canadiens dropped a 3-2 decision to New Jersey. The Bruins, who have a game in hand, lost for the fifth time in six games (1-4-1).

Hartnell set the tone only 1:40 into the contest after converting a giveaway by Krecji, but Redden pounced on a rebound just over three minutes later for his first goal with Boston.

Read put the Flyers ahead at 11:24 of the second before Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara misplayed a backhander toward his own net that caromed off the stick of Anton Khudobin and between his legs. Lauridsen was credited with his first NHL goal on the play for Philadelphia, which put it away in the third when Gagne scored 13 seconds after Krecji's tally for a 5-2 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Flyers captain Claude Giroux set up both third-period goals to give him eight points in his last five games. ... Khudobin was replaced by Tuukka Rask following Chara's blunder. Rask made 11 saves. ... The second-period goals by Philadelphia tied for the second-fastest in franchise history, behind two scored in six seconds in 1985. ... Philadelphia D Kimmo Timonen will miss the remainder of the season with a compression fracture in his right foot.
