BRUINS 4, CANADIENS 3 (SO)
: All-Star Tyler Seguin scored the lone goal of the shootout as Boston kicked off a six-game road trip by handing Montreal its second straight loss following a four-game winning streak.

Defenseman Andrew Ference, Benoit Pouliot and Patrice Bergeron tallied in regulation for the Bruins, who had lost two of three on the road and four of six overall.

David Krejci hit the left post on Boston's first attempt in the shootout as he attempted to beat All-Star Carey Price to the stick side. After All-Star Tim Thomas made a left pad save on Max Pacioretty, Seguin ripped the puck inside the left post as Price never moved.

Thomas denied Lars Eller on Montreal's final chance, giving Boston its fourth consecutive win over the Canadiens - all by one goal.

Ference gave Boston a 1-0 lead late in the first period, but Mathieu Darche evened the contest 99 seconds into the second session with a shorthanded goal.

The Bruins moved back ahead at 5:07 as Pouliot made a nifty move around defenseman Chris Campoli at the top of the right faceoff circle and fired the puck between Price's pads. Bergeron made it 3-1 later in the period with a power-play tally.

Montreal rallied in the third to forge a tie. Pacioretty beat Thomas from the top of the slot 3 1/2 minutes into the session and Erik Cole intercepted a pass by Bruins captain Zdeno Chara in the low slot and lifted a backhander past Thomas with 8:48 remaining.

Price made 31 saves for Montreal, which has lost four of six at home.
