Henrik Zetterberg scored two goals and added a pair of assists as the Detroit Red Wings posted their third straight win, a 5-3 road victory over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.

Pavel Datsyuk recorded a goal and two assists while Dan Cleary notched a tally and an assist for the Red Wings, who raised their all-time record against the Sharks to 49-18-5.

Cleary got things started for Detroit on the power play with his team-high 11th goal at 4:50 of the first period and Datsyuk doubled the lead less than 3 1/2 minutes later. Zetterberg assisted on both scores.

Dany Heatley halved the deficit for San Jose with a man-advantage tally at 9:35, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games. But Zetterberg made it 3-1 at 2:58 of the second and completed his third two-goal effort of the campaign at 7:55 of the third for a 5-2 bulge.

Patrick Eaves also scored and Jimmy Howard made 25 saves in his 13th consecutive start for Detroit, which had lost two of its previous three road games.

Rookie Benn Ferriero and Ryane Clowe tallied and Antero Niittymaki stopped 24 shots for the Sharks, who have dropped five of seven.
