Brenden Morrow scored his ninth goal of the season early in the third period Wednesday to lift the Dallas Stars to a 2-1 victory over the host Ottawa Senators.
Trevor Daley added a goal and Andrew Raycroft made 18 saves for the Stars, who had dropped two straight and five of seven entering the contest.
Daley got Dallas on the board in the second period, taking a feed from Brad Richards and backhanding a shot past the left skate of Pascal Leclaire for his second goal of the season at the 6:14 mark.
The Senators responded 10 minutes later when Ryan Shannon snapped a shot from the top of the left circle and managed to sneak it between Raycroft’s pads.
Morrow broke the deadlock 1:13 into the third when Mike Ribeiro found him in the left slot, where his slapper again beat Leclaire to the goaltender’s lower left side. It was the 16th assist and 18th point of the season for Ribeiro.
Leclaire had 24 saves for the Senators, who have lost four of five.
