Kevin Porter scored 2:07 into overtime as the Colorado Avalanche rallied for a 4-3 triumph over the visiting San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.

Chris Stewart collected a goal and an assist, Paul Stastny also tallied and rookie Kevin Shattenkirk netted his first career NHL goal as Colorado (10-7-1) erased a two-goal deficit in the third period in this one.

Defenseman John-Michael Liles notched a pair of assists and Peter Budaj finished with 40 saves to improve to 3-5-1 in his career against San Jose.

Trailing 3-1 in the third period, Stewart netted his 11th goal of the season at 8:38 of the session and Stastny leveled the contest just over six minutes later.

Porter then ended the game by converting a breakaway while tumbling to the ice.

Defenseman Mike Moore netted his first career NHL goal and veteran blue-liner Dan Boyle and Logan Couture also tallied for San Jose (9-5-3), which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.

Captain Joe Thornton and Ryane Clowe notched a pair of assists apiece and Antero Niittymaki turned aside 18 shots to see his record fall to 7-1-3.
