Redskins 41, Jaguars 10: Kirk Cousins threw two touchdown passes as host Washington overcame a potentially serious ankle injury to Robert Griffin III.

The Redskins (1-1) played most of the game without Griffin, who was carted off after an awkward fall out of bounds midway through the first quarter, as well as wideout DeSean Jackson, who injured his right shoulder on a hit shortly thereafter. Cousins came on and went 22-of-33 for 250 yards without a turnover while Alfred Morris contributed 85 yards and a pair of short touchdowns on 22 carries.

Jacksonville's Chad Henne was 14-of-28 for 193 yards, including a 63-yard TD to tight end Marcedes Lewis late in the first half. Henne also was the leading rusher for the Jaguars (0-2) with only 17 yards, as Toby Gerhart was limited to eight on seven carries.

Two plays after Griffin exited, Cousins hooked up with fullback Darrel Young on a 20-yard score to put the Redskins ahead 7-0. Morris found the end zone from 1 yard out twice in the second quarter as Washington led 21-7 at the half.

Kai Forbath's 35-yard field goal accounted for the only points of the third quarter, and Cousins' short TD pass to Niles Paul made it 31-7 early in the fourth. Silas Redd Jr. recorded a late 14-yard TD run for the Redskins, who outgained the Jaguars 449-148 overall and 191-25 on the ground.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Paul made eight catches for 99 yards for the Redskins, who have won five of the six all-time matchups between the teams. ... Washington WR Pierre Garçon, who had caught at least five passes in 17 straight games, finished with one reception for 12 yards. ... Cousins completed his first 12 passes after taking over for Griffin.
