A week after being benched, Mark Sanchez returned to the lineup and his mistake-filled ways for New York (6-10). Sanchez threw an interception which Bryan Scott returned 20 yards for a touchdown to give Buffalo a 7-3 lead in the first quarter, and he also lost his 16th fumble of the season. The Jets, which lost for the third straight time, dominated control of the ball in the first half but continuously stalled in the red zone and trailed 14-9 at the break. Nick Folk accounted for all the New York scoring with three field goals.

After Smith's short TD scamper gave the Bills a 21-9 lead, Tashard Choice completed the scoring with a 13-yard scoring run with 1:10 remaining.
