Redskins 38, Cowboys 31: Robert Griffin III tossed four touchdown passes for the second time in five days as visiting Washington snapped a six-game Thanksgiving Day losing skid to Dallas.

After torching NFC East rival Philadelphia on Sunday, Griffin picked up where he left off by completing 20-of-28 passes for 311 yards. Aldrick Robinson and Santana Moss reeled in their second touchdown in as many weeks and Pierre Garcon and Niles Paul also had scoring receptions for the Redskins (5-6).

Tony Romo rebounded from a sluggish start to throw for a career-high 441 yards and three touchdowns - including a pair to Dez Bryant. The mercurial receiver followed his 85-yard touchdown late in the third quarter with an 11-yard score on fourth down to bring the Cowboys (5-6) within one possession at 35-28.

Griffin, who played collegiately at Baylor, was sensational in his return to the Lone Star State. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner started the fireworks by hooking up with Robinson, who sped past a pair of defenders for a 68-yard score only 1:13 into the second quarter.

After rookie Alfred Morris rushed in from 1-yard out, Garcon gave Washington a 21-3 lead after reaching behind him to make the catch before turning upfield for a 59-yard score.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After throwing for eight touchdowns in his first nine games, Griffin amassed seven in a six-quarter stretch. ... Dallas WR Miles Austin strained his right hip on his team's first possession and did not return. ... Romo, who was 37-for-62 passing, suffered his first loss in six Thanksgiving appearances.
