Giants 29, Cowboys 24: Lawrence Tynes kicked five field goals and the New York defense forced six turnovers to carry New York over host Dallas.
Eli Manning went 15-for-29 for 192 yards and Andre Brown scored a rushing touchdown for New York (6-2), which moved to 4-0 at Cowboys Stadium and avenged a loss in the season opener.
Dallas quarterback Tony Romo threw for 437 yards but was intercepted four times. The Cowboys (3-4) had a chance to take the lead late but Romo was flushed out of the pocket on fourth-and-1 and threw the ball up for grabs, where Stevie Brown hauled it in on the right sideline for his second pick of the game with 1:03 left to play.
A disputed spot on third down forced the Giants to punt, giving Romo one more chance. A desperation heave with 10 seconds left was caught in the back of the end zone by Dez Bryant and initially ruled a touchdown before replay ruled that his hand came down out of bounds.
Three more passes in the final seconds did not yield a score. Romo finished 36-for-62 with one touchdown and Jason Witten caught a franchise single-game record 18 passes for 167 yards to lead Dallas.
The Giants took advantage of turnovers to build a 23-0 lead with 13:05 left in the first half, capped by Jason Pierre-Paul’s 28-yard interception return for a touchdown. The Cowboys battled all the way back to take a 24-23 lead on John Phillips’ 1-yard touchdown run but Tynes connected from 43 yards and again from 37 to make it a 29-24 gap.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cowboys LB Dan Connor left in the second quarter with a neck injury and did not return. Connor was in the starting lineup in place of Sean Lee (toe) who was placed on IR earlier in the week. … Giants LB Chase Blackburn (hamstring) and TE Bear Pascoe (ankle) both left the game and did not return. … For the first time since 1963, Dallas had three receivers go over 100 yards, including Miles Austin (nine catches, 133) and Bryant (5, 110).
