Steelers 27, Jets 10: Ben Roethlisberger tossed a pair of touchdown passes and led a clock-killing drive in the fourth quarter as host Pittsburgh cruised past New York.

Roethlisberger finished 24-of-31 for 275 yards and directed a 14-play, 75-yard marathon that prevented the Jets (1-1) from mounting a comeback. The drive, which consumed more than 10 minutes, ended with Isaac Redman's 2-yard touchdown run.

Roethlisberger easily outdueled Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who completed 10 of 27 passes for 138 yards as the Jets mustered only 219 yards of total offense.

Sanchez put the Jets up 7-3 with just over four minutes remaining in the opening quarter, guiding a 90-yard drive capped by a six-yard slant pass to Santonio Holmes for his first receiving touchdown of the year. After the teams traded field goals, Roethlisberger finished an 11-play, 80-yard trek with a one-yard TD toss to Heath Miller with 1:03 left in the first half.

Roethlisberger and Wallace connected on the play of the game with 8:44 remaining in the third quarter to give the Steelers (1-1) a 20-10 edge. Facing third-and-16, Roethlisberger heaved a 37-yard pass that Wallace caught with his back to the sideline. He then twisted himself enough to land both feet inbounds, a ruling that was upheld after a video review.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jets backup QB Tim Tebow made his first offensive appearance with eight minutes left in the third quarter and promptly broke off a 22-yard run. ... New York limited the Steelers to 66 rushing yards, one week after getting torched for a league-high 195 in a win over the Buffalo Bills. ... Ten Pittsburgh players finished with at least one reception, led by Antonio Brown's seven catches for 79 yards.
