Northwestern continued its undefeated start to the season with a 21-13 victory over visiting Nebraska in Big Ten action on Saturday in Evanston, Ill.

Peyton Ramsey passed for 169 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Wildcats (3-0, 3-0), while two quarterbacks for the Cornhuskers (0-2, 0-2) combined for 218 yards and two picks.

Northwestern opened the scoring on its first possession of the game. After rushing for 12 yards on a fourth-and-1 play from inside the Wildcats' own territory, Drake Anderson scored two plays later on a 41-yard scamper.

Nebraska scored 13 unanswered points in the second quarter to take the halftime lead.

Connor Culp booted field goals of 38 and 36 yards and Dedrick Mills punched in a 3-yard touchdown run 1:25 before intermission following the second interception of the game by Myles Farmer.

After the break, Northwestern came out looking revitalized and marched down the field. At the 2-yard line, Ramsey found John Raine in the end zone to give the Wildcats a 14-13 lead.

Nebraska drove down the field later in the half, but Adrian Martinez made a poor decision. Throwing behind his body, Martinez was picked off in the end zone by Brandon Joseph. Luke McCaffery replaced Martinez under center on the following possession.

With 9:53 left in the fourth, Ramsey made it an eight-point game when he found Riley Lees on a crossing route for a 10-yard touchdown.

McCaffery drove the Huskers to the 3-yard line, but the Wildcats defense stepped up. McCaffery's pass was tipped and dropped right into the arms of linebacker Chris Bergin.

Nebraska had one final chance late but got stopped on fourth down in the red zone with seconds remaining.

With the victory, Northwestern takes sole possession of first place in the Big Ten West.

Martinez completed 12 of 27 passes for 125 yards and also rushed 13 times for 102 yards to lead Nebraska.
