J.K. Dobbins shredded the nation's best rushing defense for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries and Chase Young tied a school record with four sacks as No. 3 Ohio State defeated No. 13 Wisconsin 38-7 at soggy Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Saturday.

Wisconsin had allowed 58.4 yards rushing but Dobbins had 92 in the third quarter when the Buckeyes (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) increased a 10-7 lead to 24-7 on a 10-yard run by quarterback Justin Fields and Dobbins' 9-yard rush.

Dobbins added a 14-yard TD on the ground early in the fourth quarter. He had 221 total yards, including three catches for 58 yards.

Jonathan Taylor of Wisconsin (6-2, 3-2) had 52 yards on 20 rushes. He was averaging 136.7 rushing yards per game.

Defense ruled in the first half until the Buckeyes' last drive, when they took a 10-0 lead on Fields' 27-yard pass to Chris Olave with 48 seconds left.

Earlier, Blake Haubeil kicked a 49-yard field goal at 6:57 of the second quarter for a 3-0 lead.

That defense ruled the first half, especially with a driving rain at times, was not surprising.

The Badgers entered first in scoring defense (7.6 points) and total defense (193.9 yards) while the Buckeyes were second in each category (8.0, 229.0) while offensively being No. 3 in scoring (49.7).

Wisconsin had 72 total yards in 29 plays in the first half but got back into the game with a partial block of a punt by Alexander Smith to get the ball at the Ohio State 30 early in the third quarter. Three plays later, Jack Coan threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Taylor to make it 10-7 at the 12:08 mark before Ohio State pulled away.

Fields was 12 for 22 for 167 yards and two TDs to Olave, who had seven catches for 93 yards.

The Buckeyes had 431 total yards (264 rushing, 167 passing), the Badgers 191 (108 passing, 83 rushing).

Coan was 10 for 17 for 108 yards.
