Bailey, a sophomore, ran 54 and 48 yards for TDs and Jason Maitre added a pick-six as the Eagles (4-3, 2-2) built a 21-point halftime lead against their Atlantic Division rivals.

Bailey finished with 181 rushing yards on 16 carries. BC ran for 429 yards overall against the ACC's top run defense.

N.C. State redshirt freshman quarterback Devin Leary replaced ineffective starter Bailey Hockman (4 of 10 for 27 yards and one interception) early in the second quarter. Leary finished 15 of 33 for 259 yards and three second-half TDs. He connected with Thayer Thomas for two 6-yard scoring passes and with Cary Angeline on a 15-yard TD.

The Wolfpack (4-3, 1-2) went for it on fourth down from the Eagles' 2-yard line on two separate drives and failed to score. N.C. State managed only 56 yards rushing overall.

Boston College went ahead 31-3 on Dillon's 2-yard TD run that ended a 16-play, 98-yard drive with 6:02 left in the third quarter. Dillon carried 34 times overall.

Bailey's 54-yard TD run up the middle built a 17-3 BC advantage at 5:07 of the second quarter. He then ran 48 yards off right tackle to give the Eagles a 24-3 cushion 2:51 before halftime.

Maitre's 8-yard interception return gave the Eagles a 7-0 lead at 5:36 of the first quarter.

Chris Dunn 's 31-yard field goal pulled N.C. State within 7-3 with 11:51 remaining in the second quarter.
