Travis Levy scored two touchdowns and enjoyed the most productive game of his career as No. 22 Boston College continued its roll and dominated the second half in a 31-21 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday in Blacksburg, Va.

Levy rushed 11 times for a career-best 75 yards, and the sophomore running back scored his first two career rushing touchdowns. Levy scored his first TD on a 29-yard run down the left side on a first-and-10 with 7:37 remaining in the third to forge a 14-14 tie.

Following Korab Idrizi's tiebreaking 22-yard catch with 3:58 remaining in the third, Levy added a 1-yard score with 8:51 left in the fourth to put Boston College (7-2, 4-1 ACC) up 28-14. Levy then added four more rushes on the Eagles' next drive, which ended with Colten Lichtenberg's 33-yard field goal with 2:31 to go.

A.J. Dillon gained 96 yards on 24 carries and scored Boston College's first TD from 3 yards out with 6:40 left in the opening quarter. He did not play in the fourth quarter to rest as he recently returned after missing 2 1/2 games with an ankle injury.

After Dillon's eighth rushing TD of the season, Virginia Tech tied the game on a 26-yard TD catch by Damon Hazelton with 4:11 left in the first quarter. Eric Kumah's four-yard TD reception with 10:44 to go before halftime gave the Hokies a 14-7 lead at the half.

The Eagles won their third straight after entering the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time. They are 1 1/2 games behind No. 2 Clemson in the Coastal Division, and the Eagles host the Tigers next week.

Anthony Brown completed 15 of 26 passes for 177 yards and guided an offense that gained 219 yards on the ground and outscored the Hokies 24-7 in the second half.

Virginia Tech's Ryan Willis completed 25 of 42 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns but threw a costly interception that set up Boston College's go-ahead TD.

The Hokies (4-4, 3-2) lost for the third time in four games.
