Fullback Winston Dimel had multiple touchdowns for the second straight week as Kansas State easily defeated Missouri State 35-0 Saturday night at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan. The game was called at halftime because of lightning in the area.

Following a delay of 55 minutes because of rain and the threat of severe weather, the Wildcats (2-1) pulled away early and never let the Bears (2-1) get a foothold.

Dimel, who scored four touchdowns on five carries Sept. 17 against Florida Atlantic, scored two first-half touchdowns on runs of 1 and 5 yards. Starting quarterback Jesse Ertz, who played less than two quarters, was 7 of 8 for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

The Kansas State defense was equally impressive, holding Missouri State to just 54 total yards. The Bears also had two turnovers in the first half.

The Wildcats open Big 12 Conference play next week at West Virginia. The Wildcats are 5-1 all-time versus West Virginia, including 4-0 since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 prior to the 2012 season.

Kansas State jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a touchdown run by Charles Jones and a deflected touchdown reception by Byron Pringle. By halftime, the Wildcats had increased the lead to 35-0 on Dimel's two touchdowns and Ertz's second touchdown pass, this one to Dominique Heath.

The game was delayed again at halftime because of lightning in the area. With continuous lightning in the area, the delay lasted nearly another hour before the game was called.
