Michigan 34, Miami (Ohio) 10: Derrick Green rushed for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the host Wolverines pulled away in the second half.

Devin Gardner threw for 184 yards with two scores and an interception for Michigan (2-1), which overcame some early turnover issues to win its 17th straight non-conference home game. Amara Darboh hauled in six passes for 88 yards and a touchdown and tight end Jake Butt added a scoring reception to help the Wolverines rebound from last week's drubbing at Notre Dame.

Andrew Hendrix finished 12-of-26 for 165 yards with one TD and one interception for the RedHawks (0-3), who skidded to their 19th consecutive defeat dating to October 2012. Dawan Scott caught a second-quarter scoring pass before Miami surrendered 24 unanswered points.

Cornerback Jourdan Lewis' interception set up Michigan's first touchdown, a 17-yard pass from Gardner to Darboh to make it 10-0 with 7:00 left in the opening quarter, but the Wolverines committed three turnovers in five minutes to let the visitors back in the game. Kaleb Patterson booted a 26-yard field goal before Hendrix capped a short drive with a 3-yard pass to Scott to tie it midway through the second quarter.

Green plowed in from the 1-yard line with 4:26 left in the second quarter to give Michigan a 17-10 edge at intermission and Gardner lofted a pass to a wide-open Butt down the left sideline for a 14-point lead with 3:44 left in the third. After Miami turned the ball over on downs, the Wolverines handed the keys to Green, who carried eight times on their next drive and scored from 12 yards to extend the lead to 31-10 with 9:50 to play.

NOTEBOOK: Green went over 100 yards for the second time, following his career-best 170-yard performance versus Appalachian State in the season opener. ... The RedHawks managed only 33 yards on the ground in falling to 0-6 against Michigan, with Spencer McInnis putting up a team-high 12 on six carries. ... Wolverines WR Devin Funchess, who had 16 receptions and three TDs in the first two games, did not dress after suffering a leg injury in last week's loss at Notre Dame.
