Teddy Bridgewater was 19-of-29 for 203 yards, but failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in 22 games for Louisville, which needs two losses by Central Florida for a chance to win the AAC.

After Houston turned it over on downs with it first possession, Brown ran for 42 yards on six carries, the last of which resulted in a 13-yard touchdown to give the Cardinals a 7-0 lead. John Wallace followed with a 37-yard field goal in the opening minute of the second quarter to push the lead to 10, but the Cougars owned the final 14 minutes of the half.

Bullard sandwiched field goals of 46 and 22 yards - the first of his college career - around Farrow's touchdown to give the Cougars a 13-10 lead at the half. The Cardinals came out strong after halftime, with Brown's 3-yard run capping a 70-yard drive that took just 3:51 and Wallace kicking a 39-yard field goal to give Louisville a 20-13 advantage.
