Duke 35, Virginia 22: Backup quarterback Brandon Connette ran for a touchdown and passed for another in the second half to help the visiting Blue Devils erase a 22-point deficit and knock off the Cavaliers in ACC play.

Starter Anthony Boone threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns for Duke, which saw its offense hampered for much of the game by a Virginia defense that allowed only four third-down conversions on 16 attempts. Jamison Crowder finished with nine catches for 113 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Devils (5-2, 1-2 ACC) - his ninth straight game with six or more receptions.

Kevin Parks powered the offense for the Cavaliers (2-5, 0-3) with three total touchdowns as Virginia stormed to an early 22-0 lead. David Watford threw for 263 yards and a score on 20-of-38 passing but couldn't spark the offense to any second-half points to combat 35 unanswered from Duke.

Parks’ two touchdown runs opened and closed the first quarter for Virginia, with the first capping an 11-play, 78-yard scoring drive and the second set up by a 51-yard pass from Boone to Tim Smith three plays prior. The junior running back, who totaled 138 all-purpose yards, added his first touchdown reception of the season with 5:49 left in the second quarter and Miles Gooch's two-point conversion run put the Cavaliers up 22-0.

Ross Martin's 25-yard field goal opened the second-half scoring for Duke, setting the comeback stage for Connette. After his 6-yard scamper pulled Duke to within 22-17 late in the third quarter, Connette found Braxton Deaver on a screen pass and the junior tight end scurried 47 yards for the go-ahead score.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Duke has won five of its last six meetings with Virginia, pulling to within a game of evening up the all-time series, which the Cavaliers lead 33-32 ... Blue Devils S Jeremy Cash left the game with an apparent head injury after a first-quarter collision with Watford but later returned. ...
