Andrew Luck tossed four touchdowns to guide No. 6 Stanford to an easy 44-14 win at Duke on Saturday afternoon. Tight end Coby Fleener caught two of those scores as the Cardinal (2-0) offense looked in midseason form heading into next week’s Pac-12 opener at Arizona.

Stanford’s only hiccup was a late second-quarter interception by Luck that Lee Butler returned to the end zone to make in 10-7. The Heisman frontrunner, though, rallied back for five straight touchdown drives to finish 20-of-28 for 290 yards.

Duke (0-2) was trying to bounce back from a loss to FCS Richmond but once again stalled in the red zone. The Blue Devils crossed midfield four times in the first half, but the offense came away without any points after three missed field goals, including two by Will Snyderine. Last year’s All-American is now 0-for-4 on the season.

Duke's Sean Renfree was 19-of-27 for 179 yards but floundered on third downs, as the Blue Devils converted only three times on 16 opportunities. Renfree didn’t receive any help from his ground game, which averaged just 1.3 yards per carry and was outgained 205 to 45. Stanford forced one fumble but went without an interception for the second straight game, which could be a worrisome trend considering the air assault it will be facing in Tucson next Saturday.
