D.J. Harper rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries and the Broncos routed the visiting Rams for the second straight year.

Harper rushed for an 80-yard touchdown on the Broncos’ first play from scrimmage and followed with a 2-yard score on the team’s next possession as Boise State (9-2, 6-1 Mountain West) cruised to a 35-0 halftime lead.

The Broncos held the Rams (3-8, 2-5) to 229 total yards and 10 first downs. Colorado State quarterback M.J. McPeek threw for only 19 yards with two interceptions before being replaced by Conner Smith in the second half.

Joe Southwick was 17-for-20 for 216 yards and two touchdowns for Boise State. Backup quarterback Grant Hedrick scored from 1 yard out to put the Broncos up 42-0 with 11:19 to play in the third quarter.

The Rams avoided the shutout on Chris Nwoke’s 72-yard touchdown run with 2:09 left in the third quarter and added another score on Smith's 30-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Law with 4:07 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Boise State has shut out its opponent in the first half six times this season, tying a school record. … The Broncos beat the Rams 63-13 last season in Fort Collins in the teams’ first matchup. … After rushing for more than 100 yards in each of the last two games, Colorado State’s Donnell Alexander had 58 yards on 20 carries.
