Penn State 34, Navy 7
: Matthew McGloin matched a career-high with four passing touchdowns – including three to Allen Robinson – as the host Nittany Lions gave Bill O’Brien his first win as a college coach.

McGloin completed 13 of his 21 passes for 231 yards for Penn State (1-2), which played its first complete game after blowing second-half leads in heartbreaking losses to Ohio and Virginia.

Robinson – who entered this contest as the Big Ten leader in receptions (19) and receiving yards per game (93) – added to his impressive numbers with five catches for 136 yards, all in the first three quarters.

McGloin got the Nittany Lions on the board first with a short TD pass to Jesse James before Robinson burned Navy (0-2) on scoring plays of 45, 2 and 25 yards.

Linebacker Mike Hull returned a fumble from Noah Copeland 74 yards early in the fourth quarter to stake Penn State to a 34-0 lead before Gee Gee Greene answered with a 12-yard scoring run on the next drive to end the shutout bid.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Navy QB Trey Miller saw limited action in the fourth quarter as the score got out of hand and as a result of the sprained ankle he suffered in Ireland during the Midshipmen’s season-opening loss. … After allowing just 32 rushing yards on 25 carries to Virginia last week, Penn State surrendered 245 yards on 60 carries in this contest.
