Cyrus Gray and Ryan Swope combined to score five touchdowns in the first half as Texas A&M pounded hapless Kansas, 61-7, at Kyle Field on Saturday.

The Aggies (6-5, 4-4 Big 12) scored on each of their first five possessions and six of their first seven to jump out to a 44-0 advantage at intermission to become bowl-eligible.

The 61 points were the most scored by Texas A&M since it defeated Oklahoma State, 62-23, on Oct. 15, 2005.

The Aggies needed less than a minute to complete four of their first six scoring drives against the Jayhawks' FBS-worst defense, which surrendered 321 total yards by halftime.

Gray, who needed just 49 rushing yards to become the third player in school history to post consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons, joined George Woodard (1976-77) and Greg Hill (1991-92) in that exclusive company on his second of three first-half touchdown runs.

Swope also made his own history with nine catches for 137 yards, breaking teammate Jeff Fuller’s single-season school record for receptions (78) and receiving yards (1,069) in a season.

Kansas (2-9, 0-8), which entered this contest losing its last two games by a combined four points, has lost nine straight games by an average of 29.3 points.
