Clint Moseley threw one touchdown and ran for another, and Auburn pulled away late in a 35-16 win over Samford on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Tigers (7-4, 4-3 SEC) overcame two first-half turnovers but got two rushing touchdowns from Onterio McCalebb and one apiece from Moseley and Michael Dyer to stretch the lead in the second half.

Cameron Yaw kicked a 28-yard field goal for Samford (6-5, 4-4 Southern Conference) to cut Auburn’s lead to 14-13 in the third quarter, but Dyer plowed up the middle for a 5-yard score on the Tigers’ next possession to make it 21-13.

With 11:28 left in the fourth quarter, Moseley scrambled up the middle for a 22-yard touchdown that gave Auburn some breathing room with a 28-16 lead.

The Tigers had scored at least 60 points in wins over FCS opponents the previous two seasons, but the Bulldogs made this one difficult.

Running back Jeremiaha Gates ran for 119 yards and had 70 receiving yards, and wide receiver Kelsey Pope had 13 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Dyer recorded his sixth 100-yard rushing game of the season with 157 yards for Auburn, which improved to 26-0-1 all-time against Samford.
