B.J. Daniels accounted for 370 yards of total offense and scored a touchdown as visiting South Florida snapped a four-game losing streak with a 37-17 victory over Syracuse on Friday.

Daniels threw for 253 yards and rushed for 117, his sixth career 100-yard rushing game.

Maikon Bonani added three field goals for the Bulls (5-4, 1-4 Big East), who stopped Syracuse twice on fourth down in the fourth quarter.

Syracuse (5-5, 1-4) has lost three straight since upsetting nationally ranked West Virginia. South Florida has beaten Syracuse all four times they have played at the Carrier Dome.

Ryan Nassib connected with Alec Lemon for a 10-yard scoring strike with 3:52 left in the first half to pull the Orange within 10-7, but the Bulls responded 25 seconds later on Daniels’ 2-yard run. Daniels hit Andre Davis for 43 yards to set up his touchdown.

Lemon had 10 receptions for a career-high 179 yards and two touchdowns.

Davis, a freshman, had a career-high 62 yards on three receptions. Darrell Scott, South Florida's leading rusher, was held out with an injury.

Bonani, who was only 12-for-19 coming in, connected from 29, 35 and 46 yards in three tries.
