Landry Jones threw three of his five touchdown passes in the second half as No. 9 Oklahoma, helped by a huge third quarter, trounced 12th-ranked Kansas State 58-17 Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Jones, a junior, finished with a school-record 505 passing yards for the Sooners (7-1, 4-1 Big 12), who were the top-ranked team in the country last week before suffering a 41-38 home loss against Texas Tech.

Kansas State (7-1, 4-1 Big 12), which entered as one of only eight unbeaten teams, fell behind 14-0 early before pulling within 23-17 at the half. But the Sooners, who had the wind at their back in the third quarter, scored touchdowns on five straight second-half possessions to put the game out of reach.

The Wildcats were outgained 690-240 and mustered just 27 yards after halftime. They punted on all six of their second-half possessions and went three-and-out twice.

Ryan Broyles had a game-high 14 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown for Oklahoma, which hasn’t lost back-to-back regular season games since 1999, head coach Bob Stoops’ first season in Norman. Broyles’ 29-yard touchdown reception with 10:22 left in the third quarter helped the Sooners take a 30-17 lead.

Trailing 20-17 late in the first half, Kansas State had a chance to score a late touchdown and take a halftime advantage. But a miscommunication on a 3rd-and-3 play from the Oklahoma 8-yard line — followed by Anthony Cantele’s missed 25-yard field goal — sunk the Wildcats.

Oklahoma tacked on a field goal before halftime and then the rout was on shortly thereafter.

Collin Klein had a team-high 92 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Wildcats, who finished 4-for-13 on third downs.
