Montee Ball scored three touchdowns and Wilson, who transferred from North Carolina State, completed 10-of-13 passes for 255 yards as Wisconsin won its 16th straight home opener.

The Badgers led 20-0 at the end of the first quarter and took a 37-3 lead into halftime as Wilson completed passes to seven different receivers.

Ball, who scored twice in the first half, finished with 63 yards on 10 carries. James White had 64 yards and a touchdown.

UNLV, which lost to Wisconsin 41-21 last season, couldn’t get much going offensively and didn’t score a touchdown until they were trailing 51-3 late in the third quarter.

Caleb Herring, who won the Rebels’ starting quarterback job in the off-season, completed 18-of-27 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He was without wide receivers Marcus Sullivan and Eric Johnson, who were suspended because of academic reasons.

The Rebels fell to 1-4 in Madison.
