Dave Teggart kicked a 52-yard field goal - his fourth of the game - with 16 seconds left Saturday to give Connecticut a 19-16 victory over South Florida and a trip to its first BCS Bowl.

The Huskies (8-4, 5-2) won the Big East Conference title and a trip to the Fiesta Bowl or the Orange Bowl, where it would meet either Oklahoma or Virginia Tech. UConn, after starting Big East play 0-2, has won five straight.

Much like their season, the Huskies didn’t make it easy. With Jordan Todman and their ground game kept in check, the Huskies relied on a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown by Lawrence Wilson in the second quarter and Teggart’s leg. Todman, the second-leading rusher in the country, was held to 93 yards on 33 carries.

The Huskies appeared to be in control when Teggart's 50-yarder in the fourth quarter gave them a 16-6 lead. But South Florida (7-5, 3-4) scored on a 28-yard pass from Bobby Eveld to Dontavia Bogan, and tied the score on a Maikon Bonani 22-yard field goal with 1:19 left.
