Taylor Potts threw for four touchdowns, and Texas Tech denied Houston from becoming bowl eligible with a 35-20 victory at Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday night.

Potts was 32 of 46 for 374 yards as the Red Raiders (7-5) avenged a 29-28 loss at Houston in 2009. Detron Lewis had 11 catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Potts also threw TD passes to Baron Batch and Lyle Leong in the fourth quarter.

Houston freshman quarterback David Piland was 32 of 61 for 441 yards and two touchdowns as the teams combined for 1,073 yards. Patrick Edwards had 10 catches for 177 yards for the Cougars (5-7).
