Utah rallied from a pair of 17-point first half deficits, and scored two touchdowns in three minutes early in the fourth quarter on Saturday night to claim a 38-34 Mountain West Conference victory at San Diego State.

The teams combined for 1,087 total yards, including 888 passing as No. 23 Utah (9-2, 6-1 MWC) snapped a two-game losing streak and clinched no worse than a second place finish in the MWC.

San Diego State (7-4, 4-3 MWC) proved again it is one of the most improved teams in the nation. The Aztecs, led by quarterback Ryan Lindley, jumped out to leads of 20-3 and 27-10 in the first half, but settled for only a 27-24 halftime advantage after Utah scored on a Hail Mary 47-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jordan Wynn to Kendrick Moeai on the final play.

Lindley completed 36-of-54 passes for 528 yards and four touchdowns, but threw three interceptions, including two in the red zone in the fourth quarter as Utah rallied and eventually took the lead for good on a 1-yard run by Eddie Wide on fourth down with 10:21 remaining.

The Utes defense then intercepted Lindley at their 12, and at the goal line late in the game to preserve the win. Utah, which was No. 5 in the BCS rankings two weeks ago, had been outscored 75-10 in its last two games while getting mauled by TCU and Notre Dame.
