Boston College came up with a huge defensive stand in the closing seconds to preserve a 21-16 victory over Duke in an ACC matchup on Saturday.

Duke (3-7, 1-5 ACC) had the ball at its own 37 and marched to the Boston College 2 where it faced a fourth and goal.

Needing a touchdown, the Blue Devils went to the air but quarterback Sean Renfree threw an incompletion over the middle to end Duke's chances.

Chase Rettig threw a pair of touchdown passes in the third quarter to give the Eagles (5-5, 3-4) a 21-6 lead.

Duke kicked a field goal in the third quarter and scored on a 95-yard fumble return by August Campbell early in the fourth.
