Blaine Gabbert led an efficient attack and No. 24 Missouri routed Miami (Ohio) 51-13 Saturday at Faurot Field.
For the Tigers, who completed their nonconference schedule in impressive fashion, Gabbert hit 15 of 21 throws for 181 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also ran for 22 yards, including a 1-yard score.
The Tigers, who open Big 12 play Oct. 9 against Colorado, had no trouble with the RedHawks (2-2) in the teams' first-ever meeting.
The Tigers led 7-0 before their offense took the field. They scored on the first snap of the game. Miami's Zac Dysert threw to Armand Robinson, who fumbled, and Missouri's Carl Gettis returned it 19 yards for a touchdown.
Missouri piled up 245 rushing yards. Kendial Lawrence ran for a 39-yard touchdown, Henry Josey had a 28-yarder, De'Vion Moore had an 8-yarder and Marcus Murphy added a 1-yard score.
Dysert was 19-of-26 for 184 yards, with an interception. Backup Austin Boucher threw a late 12-yard touchdown to Jamal Rogers for the RedHawks' only touchdown.
Missouri has won 21 consecutive non-conference games in September.
