Michigan’s 65-21 rout of Bowling Green Saturday in Ann Arbor came with a scare.

Quarterback Denard Robinson went down with a left knee injury after being tackled on a long run in the first quarter. Robinson, the nation’s leader in total offense and an early Heisman favorite, did not return, but according to initial reports the injury does not appear to be serious.

Before the injury, Robinson rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns and completed all four of his passes for 60 yards to give the Wolverines a 14-0 lead.

Backups Devin Gardner and Tate Forcier shared time in place of Robinson and helped the 22nd-ranked Wolverines (4-0) put away Bowling Green with 23 straight points, after the Falcons (1-3) had trimmed the lead to 21-14 midway through the second quarter.

Forcier, last season's starter, played the majority of the second half and completed all 12 of his pass attempts for 110 yards and a touchdown. Gardner threw for a touchdown and also ran for a late score.

Michigan rushed for 455 yards and had more than 700 yards of total offense.

Bowling Green quarterback Aaron Pankratz completed 18 of 29 passes for 237 yards and a touchdown.

The Wolverines open Big Ten play at Indiana next week. Bowling Green hosts Buffalo to open MAC play next week.
