After a thrilling overtime win last week, Temple rallied again with two fourth-quarter touchdowns to overtake Connecticut, 30-16, and improve to 3-0.

Bernard Pierce rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 27-yard scoring pass to lead the host Owls. His performance offset a 195-yard rushing effort by Connecticut’s Jordan Todman.

The Huskies led 16-14 after Dave Teggart kicked a 47-yard field goal late in the third quarter. But a fourth quarter fumble by Todman was scooped up by Adrian Robinson, who returned it for a 25-yard score to give the Owls a 20-16 lead with nine minutes left.

On Temple's ensuing drive, Pierce scored from two yards out to put the Owls up 27-16. Brian McManus kicked a 33-yard field goal for the final margin.

The Huskies fell to 1-2 despite outgaining the Owls 404-356 and holding Temple to just 2-of-13 on third and fourth-down conversions.
