Steven Threet threw three touchdown passes and Arizona State pulled away late to post a 41-20 victory over Northern Arizona on Saturday.

Threet completed 33-of-50 passes for 391 yards for the three scores and two interceptions.

Northern Arizona (1-1) pulled within 27-20 on a 35-yard touchdown pass from Michael Herrick to Khalil Paden with two minutes left in the third quarter, but the Sun Devils owned the fourth and held on for the win.

The Sun Devils (2-0) made it 34-20 when Threet hit Mike Willie for a 6-yard touchdown with 12:29 to play. Jamal Miles added a 1-yard TD run about four minutes later to cap the scoring.

The Lumberjacks took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a 21-yard field goal by Matt Myers. Threet responded with a pair of first-half touchdown passes, one in each quarter, to put Arizona State up 17-10 at the half.

Neither team was able to get much going on the ground as Northern Arizona picked up 69 yards rushing to 66 for Arizona State.

Zach Bauman rushed for 56 yards and a TD for the Lumberjacks on 22 carries.
