Jordan Todman ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns in the first half and Zach Frazer threw a pair of scores as the UConn Huskies rolled to a 62-3 victory over Texas Southern of the Football Championship Subdivision on Saturday.

Robbie Frey ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns for UConn, which bounced back from a loss to Michigan at the Big House and improved to 7-1 in home openers at Rentschler Field.

UConn (1-1) was a trendy pick to upset Michigan last week but looked overmatched in a 30-10 blowout loss.

Randy Edsall’s team regained some confidence against a much lesser opponent on Saturday.

UConn scored on each of its first four possessions and led, 24-0, after one quarter and 45-0 at halftime. Using a bevy of big plays, the Huskies overwhelmed the Tigers (0-2) from the start and outgained Texas Southern, 288-56, in the first half.

Todman ran for 136 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in the first quarter alone. The junior had two 1-yard scores and a 9-yard TD run. Frey also added a 2-yard TD run that made it 45-0.

Frazer was 6-of-9 for 104 yards with touchdown passes to Michael Smith and Kashif Moore in the opening half.
