Coty Blanchard hit Calvin Middleton for a two-point conversion in the second overtime as Jacksonville State shocked Ole Miss 49-48 in front of 55,768 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss.

The Gamecocks rallied from a 31-10 deficit to tie the game in the final seconds. Then they continued the dramatics when Blanchard completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Kevyn Cooper on 4th-and-15 in the second overtime, cutting the deficit to 48-47.

Jacksonville State opted to go for the win. Middleton caught the ball over the middle and bulled his way into the end zone to stun the Ole Miss crowd.

The comeback spoiled the debut of Oregon quarterback transfer Jeremy Masoli, who on Friday was deemed eligible to play. Masoli (7-of-10, 109 yards) saw plenty of action but had little success and threw a costly interception.

Sophomore quarterback Nathan Stanley threw for three touchdowns as Ole Miss took control in the first half. But the Gamecocks scored at will in the second half.

Jacksonville State closed the gap to 31-20 on the first play of the fourth quarter. Middleton capped a 60-yard drive with a 2-yard run following Masoli's interception.

Blanchard then hit James Shaw from 4 yards to cut the marginto 31-26 with 6:17 left. The two-point conversion failed.

Bryson Rose booted a 36-yard field goal to put the Rebels ahead 34-26 but Marques Ivory, rotating at quarterback, connected with Middleton on a 20-yard touchdown pass with 18 seconds to play. Ivory then found LaRay Williams on the two-point pass to tie it.

Masoli, who was cleared by the NCAA in a controverisal move, entered the game to a standing ovation in the first half. The NCAA originally ruled that Masoli had to sit out a season after being kicked off Oregon's team for off-the-field incidents.

Brandon Bolden led Ole Miss with 104 rushing yards.
