Forward Ivan Cruz Uceda scored a career-high 20 points and center Tonye Jekiri and forward Kamari Murphy both posted season highs in rebounds as 13th-ranked Miami dominated from start to finish in a 95-49 victory over La Salle on Tuesday at the Palestra in Philadelphia.

A 6-foot-10 senior, Cruz Uceda drilled four of his five 3-point attempts and all three of his tries from inside the arc as the Hurricanes (10-1) closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with their fifth straight victory.

The Explorers (4-5) suffered the largest loss in school history in losing their fourth consecutive game.

The Hurricanes shot over 50 percent from the field for a second straight outing, canning 32 of their 62 attempts from the field (51.6 percent). In addition to Cruz Uceda, guards Sheldon McClellan and Angel Rodriguez scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, and Jekiri had 10 points to go with his 14 rebounds.

Guard Ja'Quan Newton, a Philadelphia native, also scored 10 points for Miami. Murphy had six points to go with his 10 boards.

La Salle shot only 29.8 percent from the field and failed to get a scorer in double figures. Guard Johnnie Shuler led his team with nine points. Guard Jordan Price, who was averaging nearly 25 points a game entering the day, was held to six.
