Terry Henderson scored 23 points and Torin Dorn had 22 points as North Carolina State withstood Boston University's strong start to the second half to beat the Terriers 77-73 on Saturday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

Dennis Smith Jr. added 15 points as N.C. State (6-2) avoided consecutive losses after Tuesday night's setback at Illinois.

Eric Fanning scored 16 points, Tyler Scanlon added 15 points and Justin Alston and Cheddi Mosely each tallied 12 points for Boston University (4-4).

The Wolfpack, who are unbeaten in four home games, built a 32-21 first-half lead, but the spread was 39-33 at the break. The Terriers scored seven points in a row to tie the score at 40-all and then took a brief two-point lead.

N.C. State responded with a 14-3 run.

The Wolfpack withstood a stretch of more than 3 1/2 minutes without a point that allowed Boston University to creep back in. By the time the Terriers closed the gap to 77-73, there were just 8.4 seconds left.

Henderson ended up with four 3-point baskets. Dorn, a guard, also had a game-high 11 rebounds.

Boston University's reserves outscored N.C. State's backups by 32-6. Still, the Terriers dropped to 0-4 in road games.

Boston University was hurt by 7-for-28 shooting on 3-pointers.
