Senior forward Sebastian Saiz's tip-in with 3.3 seconds to play lifted Ole Miss past Massachusetts 90-88 on Monday in a back-and-forth thriller at the Pavilion in Oxford, Miss.

Saiz scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, the last coming off a missed driving layup by Deandre Burnett. Saiz tipped Burnett's miss in for the winning basket, capping a dramatic comeback by the Rebels, who improved to 2-0.

Massachusetts' Dejon Jarreau missed a 3-pointer as time expired. Jarreau, a freshman guard from New Orleans, finished with a game-high 25 points. Luwane Pipkins added 18 points for the Minutemen, who fell to 1-1 on the season.

Junior guard Cullen Neal added 21 points for the Rebels, and Terence Davis came off the bench to score 13 points.

Ole Miss led by 10 at 29-19 with 7:39 left in the first half, but went cold from the field.

UMass took advantage and surged into the lead. The Minutemen closed out the first half with a 10-2 run, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Zach Lewis, and took a 48-40 lead into the locker room.

The Rebels fought back early in the second half, going on a 15-6 run capped by a Rasheed Brooks jumper that gave Ole Miss at 55-54 lead with 16 minutes to play.

The Minutemen quickly regained the lead and were up seven, 88-81, after Pipkins buried a 3-pointer with three minutes left. Ole Miss wouldn't go away, though, and was down only two after Burnett made a pair of free throws with 1:53 to play.

The Rebels capitalized on 18 Massachusetts turnovers and outscored the Minutemen 33-23 at the foul line. The teams combined to attempt 82 free throws.
