Kansas State used a balanced scoring attack to pull away from St. Louis in a 75-47 victory Tuesday night at Bramlage Coliseum. It was the last game before the conference season starts for both teams.

The Billikens (5-7), who had started the season 4-0, lost their seventh game in the last eight.

The Wildcats (10-2) were led by forward Wesley Iwundu with 13 points, followed by guards Kamau Stokes and Justin Edwards with 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Cats had seven players with at least seven points.

St. Louis was led by forward Milik Yarbrough with 12 points. Guard Ash Yacoubou added 10 points.

Foul trouble hurt St. Louis, who had six players with three fouls midway through the second half. A SLU scoring drought of more than 3:30 didn't help either, as the Wildcats opened a 13-point lead with 8:17 left in the second half. St. Louis could not get inside 10 points the rest of the way. K-State went on a 21-3 run to finish the game.

St. Louis was doomed by dreadful shooting in the second half. The Billikens made just 25 percent (7 of 28) of their shots after intermission.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair. Kansas State scored the final six points of the half to open the largest lead of the game by either team at 35-28. The Wildcats used balanced scoring, with eight players with four points or more, led by Iwundu, who had six points.

Center Austin Gillmann led the Billikens with eight points, followed by Yarbrough, who tallied seven.
