BATON ROUGE, La. -- Forward Ben Simmons scored 20 second half points, including 11 straight as LSU weathered an Oral Roberts rally and took a wire-to-wire 100-77 win Saturday.

Simmons, who took just five shots and had four points in the first half, finished with 24 and nine rebounds to lead all scorers. Forward Craig Victor II added a season-high 13 while guards Josh Gray and Antonio Blakeney each had 12.

The Tigers raced out to a 30-9 advantage to start the game, suffocating the Golden Eagles on the defensive end, allowing just four made field goals in the first 12 minutes of action.

Blakeney and Victor paced the balanced first-half attack with nine points apiece, but were saddled with foul trouble and derailed the torrid offensive pace that saw the LSU lead get as big as 24.

Guard Kris Martin came off the bench to pace the Golden Eagles with 18 while leading scorer, guard Obi Emegano, had 16. Four Golden Eagles were in double figures and Oral Roberts shot 52 percent in the second half.
