Sophomore guard Elijah Stewart scored 15 points to lead visiting USC to a 75-63 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night at The Thunderdome in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Junior forward Nikola Jovanovic scored 14 points for USC (6-2). Junior guard Julian Jacobs had 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

Sophomore guard Gabe Vincent scored 16 points to lead UC Santa Barbara (2-4). Senior forward Michael Bryson had 15 points and seven rebounds while senior guard Josh Green scored 13 points.

UC Santa Barbara jumped out to a 12-4 lead, making five of its first eight shots while USC missed seven of nine. The Trojans scored seven unanswered points to tie the game on a 3-pointer by sophomore guard Malik Marquetti and took a 21-20 lead on a 3-pointer by Stewart with 9:27 to play in the opening period.

USC led 39-36 at the break and UC Santa Barbara reclaimed the lead early in the second half.

The Trojans mounted a 15-2 run to go up 56-44 on a 3-pointer by Stewart with 13:36 to play. The Gauchos stormed back to cut the deficit to two with 5:54 to go, but the Trojans turned back the charge.
