Senior guard Malcolm Brogdon scored a game-high 22 points and picked up the slack with point guard London Perrantes out of the lineup to carry No. 10 Virginia to a 64-58 victory over Ohio State on Tuesday in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Brogdon, who has scored 20 or more points in the last three games, made 6 of 10 shots from 3-point range and added six rebounds.

Guard Darius Thompson added 12 points and six assists and forward Anthony Gill had 10 points and eight rebounds for Virginia (6-1), which won its fifth straight game.

Perrantes missed the game while recovering from an appendecdomy performed Sunday. His status for Saturday's game against William & Mary is uncertain. Perrantes is averaging 10 points and 5.3 assists.

Junior forward Marc Loving led Ohio State with 19 points, making 7 of 11 shots from the field, sophomore forward Keita Bates-Diop scored 15 points and sophomore forward Jae'Sean Tate had 12 points and eight rebounds.

The loss was the fourth in a row for Ohio State (2-4).

The Buckeyes took the lead early in the second half and were up 42-40 on a three-point play by Loving with 13:20 left. The game remained close before a 4:13 scoring drought by Ohio State led to Virginia opening a 57-49 lead on a basket by Brogdon with 4:16 left.

Ohio State closed to 61-58 on a 3-pointer by Bates-Diop with 27 seconds left before Brogdon hit two free throws and Gill one to finish the win.

The Cavaliers shot 50 percent on 3-pointers (8 of 16) and the Buckeyes finished at 50 percent from the field (21 of 42). Both teams shot better than 50 percent from the floor in the second half.

Ohio State stood toe to toe with Virginia in the first half. The Buckeyes scored the final seven points to trail 26-24 after 20 minutes.

Brogdon had nine points and four rebounds to lead Virginia in the opening half but was only 3 of 10 from the field.

Bates-Diop scored seven points in the first half to pace Ohio State.
