Miami (Fla.) 63, Richmond 61: Sheldon McClellan scored 16 points as the visiting Hurricanes rallied to stun the Spiders to earn a spot in the NIT's Final Four.

Davon Reed posted 10 points and 12 rebounds as Miami (24-12) overcame an early 13-2 deficit and a second-half hole of 36-18 to advance to the semifinals at Madison Square Garden on March 31, where it faces Temple or Louisiana Tech. Ja'Quan Newton contributed 11 points off the bench, while Tonye Jekiri grabbed 10 rebounds for the second-seeded Hurricanes.

Terry Allen had 18 points and 11 boards to pace top-seeded Richmond (21-14), which led for most of the game before its late collapse. T.J. Cline added 17 points while Kendall Anthony pitched in with 11.

Miami erased an 11-point deficit with less than seven minutes left by making 14 straight free throws and getting several big shots from its star player. McClellan's 3-pointer tied it at 55 with 2:02 left and the junior guard added a runner in the lane and two free throws shortly thereafter before Reed and Manu Lecomte each went 2-of-2 from the line to wrap it up.

The Hurricanes did not reach double figures until McClellan's jumper with 5 1/2 minutes left in the first half brought them within 21-10, although Anthony found Allen for a transition layup at the buzzer to send the Spiders into the locker room with a 30-18 cushion. Miami only managed two field goals in the first nine minutes of the second half, but Richmond totaled one bucket over a nearly 10-minute stretch to pave the way for the visitors' comeback.
