Stanford 78, USC 76:
Anthony Brown had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the visiting Cardinal survived to beat the Trojans in the Pac-12 game.

Rosco Allen scored a career-high 18 points off the bench and Stefan Nastic contributed 15 points for Stanford (11-4, 3-1 Pac-12). Chasson Randle added 12 points for the Cardinal, who missed their last seven field-goal attempts and scored one point in the final 5:28 of the game.

Julian Jacobs scored 16 points and Jordan McLaughlin finished with 14 off the bench to lead USC (9-7, 1-3). Nikola Jovanovic added 13 points and Malik Martin finished with nine points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Trojans.

The Cardinal, who blew a 14-point lead with 10 minutes remaining in regulation Thursday at UCLA before losing in double overtime, extended their lead back to 13 with just under seven minutes remaining, but the Trojans didn’t raise the white flag as McLaughlin made two free throws with 1:27 left to cut the deficit to three and then scored on a breakaway layup to make it a one-point game. The Trojans got the ball back with a chance to win the game but McLaughlin stumbled as he drove to the basket and turned the ball over with 1.7 seconds left.

The teams combined to shoot 14-for-20 from 3-point range in the first half as the Cardinal took a 49-43 advantage into the locker room. Randle went to the bench after picking up two fouls in the first 3 1/2 minutes, but bounced back to score 13 points in the opening half while shooting 3-for-4 from 3-point range.

GAME NOTEBOOK: McLaughlin, USC's leading scorer, returned after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury. … Stanford, which tied a school record with 15 3-pointers in 31 attempts in Thursday’s double-overtime loss to UCLA, finished 10-for-25 from beyond the arc against the Trojans. …. Allen is 12-for-22 from 3-point range in the last five games after shooting 7-for-27 in the first 10.
