UCF 79, Houston 78 (OT): Brandon Goodwin scored a career-high 30 points, including the game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation and the game-winning 3 with three seconds left in overtime, to lead the Knights to the road victory.

Goodwin, a sophomore who hadn't scored as many as 20 points in his career, also had seven rebounds and five assists for UCF (8-6, 1-2 American), which snapped a two-game losing streak. Adonys Henriquez added 14 points and Justin McBride chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks before fouling out.

Jherrod Stiggers had 20 points to pace Houston (7-7, 0-3), adding five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Danrad Knowles and L.J. Rose both finished with 15 points, with Knowles grabbing eight rebounds and Rose dishing out seven assists.

The first half was close throughout, with 11 lead changes before UCF went on a closing 15-2 run to take a 12-point advantage into the break. But the Cougars came roaring out in the second half, holding the Knights scoreless for more than five minutes while going on a 21-0 run, with Knowles scoring eight of those points, to take a nine-point lead with just under 15 minutes to play.

The lead was double digits for much of the second half before UCF made things tight down the stretch, with Goodwin's 3-pointer with four seconds left tying the game and sending it to the extra period. Neither team was proficient in the overtime, with Houston managing just three free throws and UCF hitting just one before Goodwin's game-winner.
