No. 7 Villanova 92, NJIT 67:
Ryan Arcidiacono scored 16 points and the unbeaten Wildcats overcame the pesky Highlanders to win at home.

Arcidiacono was 6-of-12 from the field while hitting double figures for the first time in nine games for Villanova (12-0). Dylan Ennis had 17 points, Daniel Ochefu posted 13 points and 10 rebounds, and JayVaughn Pinkston had 12 points and six boards for the Wildcats, who made 21-of-26 free throws in the second half.

Damon Lynn notched 13 points and Tim Coleman scored 12 for NJIT (5-8), which shot 29 percent in the second half. Osa Izevbuwa scored 11, Winfield Willis added 10 points and Ky Howard dished out 11 assists for the Highlanders.

The Highlanders went to halftime with a lead by following the same blueprint it used to beat No. 17 Michigan - shoot for a high percentage particularly from 3-point territory, where they were 8-of-13. A pair of free throws by Lynn following a technical foul on Villanova coach Jay Wright gave NJIT its first lead at 37-36 with 3:27 left until halftime and Coleman's jumper sent the Highlanders to the locker room with a 44-41 advantage.

The shots that went down in the first half for NJIT didn't after the break as the Highlanders suffered through a 1-of-12 stretch that allowed Villanova to take a 10-point lead on the strength of a 20-3 run. Pinkston's free throw made it a 15-point spread with 7:46 remaining and the Wildcats never looked back in improving to 7-0 at home.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Highlanders shot 60 percent from the floor and had 13 assists on their 15 made baskets in the first half. ... The Wildcats are one win away from matching their best start in school history. ... Villanova, which received 14 points from Phil Booth, was without senior Darrun Hilliard II, who suffered a possible concussion in a win over Syracuse.
