Davidson 74, College of Charleston 55: Junior forward De'Mon Brooks scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the top-seeded Wildcats led wire to wire while garnering their second straight Southern Conference tournament championship in Asheville, N.C.

Guard JP Kuhlman scored 14 points, Jake Cohen finished with 12 points and three blocks and Nik Cochran added 10 points for Davidson (26-7), which extended its winning streak to 17 games - the longest in the nation. The Wildcats last lost Jan. 14, 70-57, at Georgia Southern.

Senior guard Andrew Lawrence finished with 19 points and sophomore forward Adjehi Baru added 11 points for College of Charleston (24-10), which fell to 1-5 all-time in Southern Conference championship games.

Davidson jumped out to a 7-0 lead as Charleston missed its first seven shots. The Cougars rallied to close to within 10-8 on a 3-pointer by Lawrence, but the Wildcats got a pair of jumpers from Brooks during a 12-2 run over the next five minutes en route to a 35-26 halftime lead.

Charleston, which finished with two assists and shot 29.8 percent, never got closer than six points in the second half and trailed by double figures most of the way. The Wildcats took away any suspense with a 9-0 run down the stretch and led by as many as 21.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Davidson has led by at least seven points in 29 of its 32 games this season, including by double figures in 25 of those contests. ... The Wildcats also won both regular-season meetings against the Cougars - 77-68 at home on Jan. 19 and 75-59 in Charleson on Feb. 14. ... Cohen is the first Davidson player since Stephen Curry to win Southern Conference Player of the Year twice and the fourth in school history to do so.
