No. 2 Indiana 72, No. 7 Michigan 71: Cody Zeller scored 25 points – including the game-winner with 14 seconds remaining – as the visiting Hoosiers rallied from a late five-point deficit to defeat the Wolverines and claim their first outright Big Ten regular-season title since 1993.

Zeller added 10 rebounds and Victor Oladipo posted his second double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for Indiana (26-5, 14-4 Big Ten).

Trey Burke scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half for Michigan (25-6, 12-6), but missed a late free throw and potential game-winning shot in the final seconds. Freshman Glenn Robinson III added 13 points and Nik Stauskas added 12 for the Wolverines, who suffered their first home loss of the season.

Neither team could build more than a three-point cushion in the final minutes until Burke knotted the game at 66 with 2:16 remaining, sparking a 7-0 run which gave Michigan a 71-66 lead with 52 seconds left. Zeller scored on a tip-in on the next possession and hit a pair of free throws after Tim Hardaway Jr. missed the front end of a one-and-one.

Burke was fouled on the Wolverines’ next possession and also missed the front end of a one-and-one, setting the stage for Kevin Ferrell to find Zeller in the post for the go-ahead basket. Burke drove the lane but missed a challenged layup and Jordan Morgan’s follow-up attempt tenuously hung on the rim before falling out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana collected a season-high 24 offensive rebounds, leading to a 53-30 advantage on the boards. … Michigan was denied its fifth undefeated home season since 1976-77 and saw its seven-game home winning streak against ranked opponents snapped. … The Hoosiers have won the last five meetings when both teams are ranked in the top 10 and ended a three-game losing streak in Ann Arbor.
