Todd Fletcher sank a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining and the host Falcons scored the upset in the Mountain West season finale.

Michael Lyons scored 30 points, including another 3-pointer with 12 seconds left that drew Air Force within a point. Fletcher added 21 points and Marek Olesinski scored a career-high 15 for the Falcons (17-12, 8-8 MWC).

Kendall Williams had 21 points and a season-high 10 assists for New Mexico (26-5, 13-3), which likely lost any chance of a top two seeding for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Tony Snell also scored 21 points and Alex Kirk had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Lobos.

Williams made two free throws with 19 seconds remaining to put New Mexico up by four points, but Lyons answered with his fourth 3-pointer of the game seven seconds later. Fletcher was 6-for-8 from beyond the arc and the Falcons were 15-for-31 as a team.

Both teams combined to shoot 18-for-35 from 3-point range in the first half, which ended in a 47-all tie. The Lobos led by nine early on but a 12-2 run late in the half put Air Force on top 44-39.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The previous career high for Olesinski, who is from Roswell, N.M., was eight points. … Air Force freshman guard Cameron Michael scored five points off the bench after combining for six in the previous 11 games, failing to appear in seven of those contests. … New Mexico dropped to 53-19 all time in the series.
